Mystery Agent: April 1st!

It's mystery agent time this Sunday!

Which means a brand new Mystery Agent! ** dances**

This time, instead of a pitch, we're mixing things up a bit. Our mystery agent would like
the first 200 words of your COMPLETED manuscript.

That's right, the first 200 words, not a pitch.

Our mystery agent is looking for the following:

I'm looking for YA of all types, story-driven (as opposed to "lesson"-driven) middle grade. I'm also looking for a range of commercial adult fiction.

So polish up those opening words for our contest this Sunday. The prize will be a partial request from our fabulous mystery agent.

Oh exciting! :) I presume you'll let us know how to submit these entries on Sunday?

Oh how wonderful. Will this be a comment entry, and the first so many are in? Oh I hope I get to it in time :)

Does "adult commercial fiction" mean any genre books for adults, like romance?

I'm also wondering about the specifics for "adult commercial fiction" does it include urban fantasy?

I love that this post begins with Carlton doing "the Carlton".....makes it all the more fun. Thanks for hosting another great opportunity!

yes :)

to my understanding, it pretty much covers anything that's on the commercial end of the spectrum as opposed to literary novels.

Can you remind me of the Secret Agent rules--can we enter if we've entered (but not won) a Secret Agent contest before?

Michelle McLean said...

You can enter even if you have won before :) All the rules and details will be posted in the morning, stay tuned :)

Just wondering what time Sunday morning - I'm very interested but live on the west coast. Hope I still have a chance to enter during my morning!

Oh, and I forgot to mention how much I love the dancing reminder of the 90's :)

Fresh prince of Belaire....yeah, I totally know every word to that song.

I knew I should've just stayed up all night and just not had my daughter go to school. It's the only way I get a chance as these contests usually pop up sometimes between midnight and now (7.40am)
The joys of being born in NZ, I suppose.

Ah, well, hopefully June's agent will be looking for adult fantasy. Though knowing my luck, probably not.
