I recently got back some really great comments from a beta reader and just moped around for a good two weeks, without really being conscious of what I was doing. Giving yourself some time is so important. I think of it as a period of mourning for the death of what you thought was your perfect draft!Robyn Rylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07510195754917893035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6961445666519156260.post-14400207660039881002013-01-06T17:09:31.409-06:002013-01-06T17:09:31.409-06:00I'm totally Team First Draft, but all this tal...I'm totally Team First Draft, but all this talk of revision helps convert me. :) And I definitely need it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11641608488926357864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6961445666519156260.post-89411210098791003552013-01-06T13:39:06.896-06:002013-01-06T13:39:06.896-06:00Love the Wonder Bread analogy. Like if a CP says "this minor character needs to be fleshed out more" is it really about the minor character, or does it reflect something lacking in a more prominent character?Angelica R. When I receive feedback from a critique partner, I tend to dive in immediately. I've learned to let them sit though, especially when I received the same feedback from three sources, and I knew what needed to be fixed, but HOW to fix was the issue. Nanowrimo was a useful tool for me to focus on getting the draft down on the page, and not obsessing over story details that usually slow me down.

I just read TEN, it was a fun read!Stephscohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06328839483008086049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6961445666519156260.post-13711827962151237502013-01-06T11:37:58.637-06:002013-01-06T11:37:58.637-06:00LOVE this post!
