What a hectic last few days! First we ended our orange owl naming contest. And, if you haven't noticed already, the winner is....
Oliver is quite pleased with his new name, especially since he feels he represents the blog so much better now. OA=Operation Awesome AND OA=Oliver Awesome. As you can see, he's feeling even more so a part of our cozy corner of the blogging world.
Our Twilight contest has also ended, and the choices are being deliberated. We should have an answer shortly, once we can narrow down the winner.
And finally, thanks so much for everyone who entered our Mystery Agent contest. All spots are now filled. Our Mystery Agent now has the very difficult decision of deciding the winner. We'll keep you posted as soon as we find out more.
Yesterday also started NaNoWriMo. If you are participating, post your 1st day's word count in the comments below. I'm not participating this year, in the traditional sense. But I have decided to attempt to get my WIP draft done.
For those of you attempting specific words count goals each day, here is a handy chart my husband made for me a while back. You can insert goals, and it will tell you how far you are from reaching those goals. It's a great tool when you are feeling like you want to be organized.
You can download the form from my website: Here
I LOVE your writing worksheet :D My word count for yesterday was 2104 :D
ReplyDeleteMy word count stands at 7,322 right now :) I did a few Write or Die sessions last night in an attempt to get the top count in my region, but someone had almost 20k. Amazingly, I have a life so there was no way I could get up to that.
ReplyDeleteT...twenty?? (gasp) How in the heck did they do that??
ReplyDeleteAwesome writing worksheet! Reached 1821 yesterday.
ReplyDeleteNot partcipating in NaNo this year, but good luck to everyone who is! I'll be doing a new vlog series where I'm reading works out loud, so feel free to send me samples of your WIPs as you work through - all info is on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pictures of Oliver! :) Yay for fun tidbits! And that writing log looks very neat. I've just downloaded Scrivener, but am finding it similar to using an ergonomic split keyboard when you're not used to it. Your time sheet looks like a great tool for Nano!
ReplyDeleteJoana, holy crow! You did awesome! And 20k in one day simply canNOT be keep-able writing. That's that. I have a Nanowrimo word count goal of 65K, but a larger goal of turning out something resembling a quality novel. LOL. Can't do that at 20K a day. That said, I'm relying on the stuff I did after midnight yesterday to bring my word count up to 1700 because we were super busy with the Mystery Agent contest over here.
Thanks again to everybody who entered! I love seeing your creativity and know M.A. will, as well. OA peeps FTW!
Oliver is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for voting and participating! Good luck to all you crazy NaNo people!
Hi Oliver! *waves*
ReplyDeleteGood luck to the Nanoers--I'm working on revisions. Got 500 new words on a reworked ch 4. I'm taking that as a positive thing. ;)
Oliver is even cuter now that he has a name.
ReplyDeleteAwesome word counts everyone. I do have a bit of a problem with 20K. Maybe it was a typo on the report or whatever NaNo uses?
Oliver is a great name.
ReplyDeleteI blew under the wire at 1680 words yesterday. No way I'd ever get to 20,000 for the day!
I got to 2200 and felt happy. Now I feel like a loser with 7k and 20k? I love oliver! I participated int MA contest Wooten Woot!
ReplyDeleteAwww...Oliver is just too cute! Thanks for all you do here, guys - you are ALL uber-awesome! :-)
ReplyDeleteKatrina, if you read the comments for this post, I'm an idiot and entered the contest yesterday and then went away from the computer. You asked me for my title, but I can't comment over there anymore, so should I leave it here or email it over or. . .
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!
Awesome word counts, people!!
ReplyDeleteI've got my pom-poms ready for anyone who wants them :D
And best of luck to everyone who entered the Mystery Agent contest!!!
I love Oliver! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI am NaNo-ing and I hit just over 2000 on day one.. happy with that :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, great chart. My goal for weekdays is higher so I don't have to write much on weekends, so this is perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy day one was 3230 words.
I'm so sad that I missed the Mystery Agent sign up! I was revising and didn't blog that day! Grrr!!!
ReplyDeleteAs for NaNo, I'm going strong, rounding out at 21K in two days... and that hasn't stopped me yet, I'm at another 6K so far for the day and I think by the evening I'll have written 10K total rounding me at 31K!
OH I SO WANNA WIN THE TWILIGHT CHRISTMAS COVERS!!!!!!
I can't wait to see who the winner is. I have a favorite . . . and it wasn't mine. ;)
