Self-Publishing: Our Very Own Angela Townsend

For my self-publishing post today, I thought it would be appropriate to post about our OA partner and uber awesome critique partner, Angela Townsend. Read her bio here to find out more about her.

Well, this last week, Angie decided to put one of her awesome books out there for everyone to read. Frozen Fury was first published by a press in Southern California. She recently received the rights back, revised and uploaded it on kindle and smashwords. She is agented in YA and MG so this is her first published adult novel

You can read a review about it on Afterglow here

As far as my update on self-publishing, I got back some preliminary artwork for my cover. He gave me five great examples. I shared my feedback with him, and now I am waiting to hear back from him again.  It was totally cool to open the email and see all the cover ideas with my name on them. Can't wait until I can show you the finished product.

As far as my submission with Angry Robot, I haven't heard back yet.

And on the traditional publishing front, I thought I'd share a publishing opportunity with you. Apex Publishing is opening their doors to open submissions the first time in several years. Apex is dedicated to publishing exemplary works of science fiction, horror, and fantasy that tiptoes the blurry edges of genre boundaries. You can read more about the opportunity here.

  2. Awesome! I couldn't put this book down. It was intense, as the spooktacular cover implies. :)

It's exciting to see the careful, quality way you two have gone about the self-publishing adventure. You've definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities that are there for people who truly understand the industry and the market. Well done and good luck!!
