It's really close between Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Scorpio Races for me. The last third of DAS is very different from the beginning of the book (not worse or better, just different) so I'd say Scorpio Races has a slight edge because it's consistently perfect all the way through. I did a top 5 YA books on my blog yesterday http://angelicarjackson.blogspot.com/2011/12/rtw-all-my-new-favorites.html
The Night Circus for me too! Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was another good one. I love the writing and the way he combines those creepy/cool pictures with the story!
I've read SO many great books this year, but here's two off the top of my head...
ReplyDeleteTHE DARKEST SECRET by Gena Showalter
DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth
Loved 'em both!
CHIME by Franny Billingsley; DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth; LEGEND by Marie Lu; THE OGRE OF OGLEFORT by Eva Ibbotson
ReplyDeleteAlso meant to add TUESDAYS AT THE CASTLE by Jessica Day George
ReplyDeleteHow to Date an Alien by Magan Vernon (Biased)
ReplyDeleteyea, no way I can pick one! But if I had to, it would be WHERE SHE WENT.
