My New Year's Resolution is......

(drum roll)

Nothing.

Absolutely Nothing.

I don't know about you all, but in the past I've made these so-called resolutions and pretty much failed within a month or so. OR, I forgot I made them, then when the year rolls around, I'm like, "oh yeah!" and I realize that I've failed pitifully. I'm a flake like that, I'm afraid. I'm pretty good with deadlines, goals that others impose on me. But when I make them myself....well, I guess I know I'm a pushover.

So instead of New Year goals, I plan to focusing on improving myself, all year long. Day by day. Step by small step. In my writing. In my housework. In my organization at life. And  hopefully, this time next year I will feel good about what I've accomplished, and not feel ashamed that I didn't meet some start of year goal.

Cause, in all honesty, shouldn't we have that same type of attitude every day, instead of waiting until the calendar year ticks around?

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I'm very flaky with resolutions as well. This year, instead of making specific resolutions, I'm simply going to work as hard as I can to get my writing moving forward, and to work to better my life one day at a time.

My only resolution is to smile each day -- laughing is better and of course giggling is best. But at least a smile is mandatory!

Oh, I am definitely a fan of resolutions. I still have a notebook page of joint and individual goals my husband and I made as newlyweds, in the guise of predictions for the next five years. Yesterday we celebrated our five year anniversary. Not only had most of them come to fruition, but some had even surpassed our expectations. I believe in writing down what you want to accomplish. But it doesn't stress me if I don't meet my goals. It gives me something to work on for the coming year.

Getting an agent and getting published... they WILL happen, one of these years.

I don't do resolutions, but I do set goals throughout the year and review them every three months or so. Then I stay on top of my game.
Here's to a successful 2011.

I know what you mean...happens to me too and I debate each and every year skipping the resolutions! Maybe you can inspire me to give them up and be better year round!

I haven't made resolutions in years but I am for next year - only one though, and that is to try and blog at least once a week.

We'll see how that goes. :)

I don't make resolutions, but I set plenty of goals. I don't usually hit them, but at least I get closer for trying.
