Are there any other rules we need to add to the list?

Excellent list! The only one I would add is: Your first draft doesn't have to be perfect. I've talked to so many people who feel that they have to be perfect as soon as they start typing the first word.

HAHA! "Poetry does not have to rhyme" - I love it. There are so so many people I'd like to show that to.

My personal rule: Write what you want to write. If you're not passionate about your story, it shows.

"There doesn't always have to be a moral to the story." So true. There's always a theme (or several) but if we think too hard about a moral, it comes out stilted. The best stories let the reader divine their own lesson for their life at that moment.

Any other rules? I can't think of one! I dig number 10.

These are awesome. I'm too brain dead right now to think up new ones but I love #2 and #7.
