October Mystery Agent 411!

We've got a new mystery agent contest coming up on October 1st and this one is a little bit different. And it's going to be FUN! :)

Instead of one line pitches, our Mystery Agent wants to see the first 250 words of your manuscript!

The contest will go live as usual at 10 EST and this time we will be accepting the first 30 qualified entries. So be ready to go when the post goes up! Do not post entries on this post - only entries posted on the official contest post that will go live on October 1st will be counted.

Here is what our agent is looking for:

Upper Middle Grade
Young Adult
New Adult
Commercial Fiction
Memoir
Narrative Non-fiction
Historical Fiction

We'll see you back here on the 1st!

The rules will go up with the post, Bluestocking, but yes we'll want contact, title, etc. You can look at the September MA post for an idea of the rules.

And I seriously considered turning in my resignation to Operation Awesome so I could enter this one--I'm a total sucker for contests!

What were the results of the last one? Did I miss it?

We're still waiting on our Sept agent. We'll post the results as soon as we get them :)

By "commercial fiction," do we mean "popular fiction that isn't necessarily literary" or "commercial" as in "genre fiction" like fantasy, sf, etc.?

Thank you.

What are the rules if you have been a runner up in a previous Mystery Agent? For instance I won a 50 page request for September's

Thanks :)

What happens if your 250th word is in the middle of a sentence?
